Serving Teams

One of the most important ways to connect is to serve the church. We have a multitude of opportunities where you can serve and make a difference. If you aren’t sure which team is a good fit for you, contact our Director of Connections, Sharon Sweeney, to help you find a place.

  Funeral Meal Volunteers

Help to provide a comforting meal after a funeral, allowing grieving families time to relax and share memories. Opportunities include preparing food in our church kitchen, serving the family, and cleaning up, or bringing a salad or dessert to complement the meal.

  Mission Garden

Calling all gardeners (experienced or not so much)! Each year, we plant a garden on our property, and all of the produce grown is donated to the Kumler Food Pantry for the hungry of Springfield. The Mission Garden has been planted, and now we need volunteers to help us tend the garden. So, grab your family, friends, small group, or Sunday School class, and choose a week to help out! Learn more about the Mission Garden, and sign up here to select your week to serve in the garden.

  StudentLife Ministry Teams

We are looking for volunteers to serve our students in creative and flexible ways. COVID has caused us to rethink youth ministry and what it looks like. We are currently offering a Sunday night youth service (virtual) and a Midweek Connect class (in person), and we need volunteers for both!

  • Small Group Leaders: Lead or support small groups over Zoom (Sunday nights) and in person (Wednesday night Connect).
  • Video Team: We need people who are comfortable in front of a camera to be part of our video services. Different options include funny videos, welcoming students to service, announcements, etc.
  • Snacks: Our Wednesday night Connect class is meeting in person, and we would love to provide our students with snacks. These will need to be individually packaged due to COVID restrictions and guidelines.
  • Adult Presence: We also need adults who just want to love and pour into our students. Be available to encourage students and provide them with a good example of what it looks like to be a Jesus follower.

  Sunshine Sharers

Send cards, make phone calls, or help deliver gifts or flowers to our seniors to brighten their day and remind them that our church family cares for them. In June 2020, we made 105 gift bags filled with goodies (all bright yellow!) and delivered them to our friends who have been isolated at home or in care facilities during this time of shelter-in-place.

  Tech Team

Help to create an engaging and non-distracting atmosphere of worship in both the Contemporary and Traditional Worship Experiences. This behind-the-scenes team controls all audio, visual, and lighting for each service. No prior experience is required - just a love of God and a willingness to serve him and his people.
