Welcome to the Courageous Initiative!
Joshua was the successor to Moses who led the Israelites out of oppression in Egypt. It would now be up to Joshua to lead them into the Promised Land. There would be great challenges on this next leg of the journey. God said to Joshua, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
Living in the 21st century as a Christ-follower requires great courage!
Our Courageous Initiative began in October 2019 and continues into 2021. During this time, I invite you to:
- Seek God in prayer.
- Open your heart to where God is leading you on your journey with Him.
Download the study guide and journal. Prayerfully read through the material and ask God what your courageous story is and how he wants you to move forward in becoming more of a courageously devoted follower of Jesus.
Let’s begin by devoting ourselves to becoming people of great courage!
Yours In Grace,
Roger Grimmett | Senior Pastor
What Is Courageous?
Courageous is a two-year, one fund vision and generosity initiative. It touches every part of our ministry at Springfield First and focuses on each of us moving closer to Christ and growing in our understanding of generosity.
The initiative is not just about money. It's about you becoming courageous in your walk with Jesus Christ. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, there IS a next step of growth.
How COURAGEOUS will you be?
Our Main Goal
Our main goal through Courageous is that 100% of people at Springfield First will engage in this initiative to experience True Life Change.
Pray Fervently - Pray that God will multiply our efforts to make disciples. Pray that HE would do abundantly more than we ask or imagine for His great name.
Commit Fully - We need you to be courageous so we can reach our goal of 100% engagement. Commit to being open to God and what He is asking of you.
Grow Intentionally - Attend worship services each weekend from October 19/20 to November 16/17. Engage in a Courageous study with a class or small group. Learn all you can about God's heart and will for you and your resources.
Give Generously - Ask God to show you what it looks like to give in a way that changes you.
That is up to you! How Courageous will you be? We have the opportunity to grow our ministries, expand our building, and even pay off our debt, all while sharing Jesus with the world. How much we accomplish during the next two years depends on you.
