In the Great Commission, Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you” (Matthew 28:18-20a).

At Springfield First, we believe that baptism is an outward expression of someone's inward conviction to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It says, "Yes, I am taking a new journey and am ‘putting on Christ,’ as it says in the Bible."  You are sharing the event with your community.

The baptism water may be sprinkled, poured, or offered through immersion at Springfield First. We let you decide what you prefer. Also, we baptize infants through adults but use the "once is enough" rule. If you have been baptized at any point in your life, you don’t need to do it again, although you can reaffirm your faith in Christ publicly if you wish by being sprinkled or immersed with water.

Are you ready to make a public announcement of your commitment to Christ? Or are you interested in having your child baptized or dedicated? We would love to talk with you about what baptism means for you. Email Sally Howard to get started!
