StudentLife Summer Events:
June 24-28th: Vacation Bible School at FUMC—VBS at FUMC is a BIG deal! Students in 6th to 12th grade are invited to serve as part of the VBS team that ministers to over 300 kids during this week. If you are interested in helping with VBS contact Brad Curtis ASAP!
June 29th: Miniature Golf Night—students in 6th to 12th grade are invited to spend the night playing miniature golf (and hitting the driving range) with Brad and the Fusion volunteers at Knight’s Action Park here in Springfield. Students will be responsible for paying for their golf but dinner will be provided by StudentLife. It all kicks off at 5:30pm at Knight’s Action Park.
July 23rd: St. Louis Day—students in 6th to 12th grade are invited to spend the day in St. Louis with StudentLife! This day will include riding roller coasters and hanging out a the wave pool at Six Flags then cheering the Cardinals on to victory at a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.
August 8 and 9: Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit—this 2 day leadership event will be hosted at FUMC this year and will feature leadership talks from some of the world’s top leaders in business, politics, and church leadership. Students in 6th to 12th grade are invited to be a part of the FUMC Hospitality Team for this conference. As part of the Hospitality team students will welcome those attending the conference, help conference attenders navigate the church building, and make sure all hospitality tables (coffee, food, registration, etc.) are stocked with what they need for the conference. This is a great opportunity for students to serve and hear from incredible leaders like Colin Powell, Andy Stanley, and Patrick Lencioni.
August 18th: PowerLight Fest—PowerLight is a 1-day Christian music festival held each year at the Illinois State Fair.
Summer Small Groups:
While our girls groups are taking a break for the summer, our Jr. High and Sr. High guys small groups are still going strong!
High School Guys: this group is open to all guys in 9th to 12th grade and will meeting on Thursday nights (beginning Feb. 7th, 2013) at 7pm at the home of Kevin Littlejohn.
Junior High School Guys: this group is open to all guys in 6th to 12 grade and will meeting every other Tuesday of the summer beginning on June 4th. This group will meet at 6pm in Rm. 14 here at FUMC. Pizza and Awesomeness provided!!
