Nursing Home Ministry

This volunteer program was established to provide a valuable service to our local nursing homes. Our goal is to visit residents who have few (if any) family members or friends to visit them regularly. We are informed that the majority of nursing home residents in the United States falls in this category. Establishing relationships with lonely residents thought frequent visits greatly improve the quality of life for these forgotten seniors.

Why Volunteer?

• God expects us to visit the sick and lonely.
• The residents are scared and need to be talked to and touched.
• It brings tremendous joy to the seniors.
• It is one of the few opportunities you’ll find to volunteer with your small children or as a family.
• It provides an opportunity to share your talents and Christian experiences with the elderly.
• Residents who receive visitors get better care than those who don’t.
• It will teach your children to view the elderly as a valuable part of the community.
