Homebound Visitation

Pastors, the pastoral care director, and lay volunteers regularly visit members of First United Methodist Church who are homebound or in nursing homes.

Seventh Inning Stretch

First United Methodist Church provides a good opportunity for seniors to walk in a safe environment. This activity offers exercise, good health and fellowship.

Trips offered by the Senior Ministries

The Senior Ministries offers trips through the church, from ballgames to plays and trips to Branson, MO.  If you would like to see if any are available please go to the NEWS tab for information.

Friendship Club

Ladies meet for fellowship and Bridge on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays, at Noon, at First United Methodist Church. Bring a sack lunch and join the group for fun.

The Quilt Club

The Quilt Club meets the 3rd Thursday of each month from 10:00a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Bring a sack lunch. This is for novice or experienced quilters. New ones are always welcome. We work on our personal projects as well as service projects. Contact: Esther Carmitchel, 726-8676.

United Methodist Men

All men are invited to join United Methodist Men, an organization that meets the last Tuesday of each month (Sept.-May) at 6:00 p.m. for fellowship while enjoying a variety of interesting programs and presentations.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women meet monthly in several small groups to enjoy Christian fellowship and development through a variety of presentations and programs. Members of the United Methodist Women are actively involved in the life of the church through various ministries. The first Friday of every month (Sept.-June) all groups come together for a luncheon.

Volunteer Opportunities

Many opportunities are available through First United Methodist Church for seniors to share their talents and time by assisting with various ministries.

Van Ministry

Transportation is available on Sunday mornings for those seniors who wish to attend the 11:00 a.m. worship services at First United Methodist Church. For information call Tadd, 793-9760 ext. 229
